A good philosophy to live by

Taken from “The Year We Seized The Day “, written by two writers trekking the ancient Camino de Santiago”, pilgrim trail in Spain:

“I’ve approached each mountain or hill we’ve climbed one step at a time. To stand at the bottom and look up to the top would mean certain failure. I’d talk myself out of it before I even got halfway. So instead, I pull the peak of my cap down over my eyes so I can only see each step ahead. And I draw inspiration from those in my life I’ve admired. stepping out the traits they had, qualities I hope to one day hold. Strength, courage, compassion, patience, persistence, love, loyalty, grace, honor and pride. This, to me, is a facet of faith. Believing in something greater than yourself that inspires you to do better.”

A pretty mountain picture.
